That strives to maintain the same organization, doctrine, and worship of the church we find described in the New Testament section of the Bible. The term “church of Christ” is not used as a denominational designation, but rather as a descriptive term indicating that the church belongs to Jesus Christ.
With no creeds, and the Bible alone, exalting only Jesus Christ as the Head of the church, and His Word as the only source of authority and doctrine.
With no name but a biblical name, just a local congregation of people who call themselves Christians, and who wish to be one of the “churches of Christ” like the ones mentioned in Romans 16:16.
That does not exalt men, the preachers wear no distinguishing title or special clothing, Jesus Christ is to be the focus of attention in His church which is His body (Colossians 1:18).
Whose members recognize their weaknesses, but they believe in the all-sufficiency and perfection of Christ’s plan for His church as revealed in the New Testament. We earnestly strive to uphold and proclaim New Testament Christianity.
That pleads for unity, and to be Christians striving for unity based on the Word of Jesus Christ, speaking the truth in love, we will grow up into the kind of church He hopes and expects us to be, held together by the activity of every member working together and doing his or her part (Ephesians 4:15-16).
That teaches the Bible plan of salvation, when the apostle Peter preached the first sermon on the Jewish Day of Pentecost about 2000 years ago, those believers who were convinced of their sin and committed to live a new life were baptized to have their sins washed away, on that day they were added to the church (Acts 2:38-41, 47); this was no temporary solution for only the people of that day, it is the way Jesus Christ intends for people to begin their new life today as well.
That focuses on glorifying God through worship and service, we have no loyalty to tradition, and we welcome the help of anyone who can show us how to follow Jesus Christ accurately.
When you visit us, you will be respected guests. We speak our convictions with kindness and courtesy. You will not be insulted or embarrassed. Our assembly is not an unrestrained display of emotion and excitement but a simple and devout period of worship. There will be no high-pressure methods used to influence you in any way. No embarrassing moments will make you wish you hadn’t come. You will not feel out of place at any of our services.
Our music is composed of acappella singing (Ephesians 5:19) and everyone is encouraged to join in. Our prayers are fervent appeals to God. Our sermons are Christ-centered, Bible-filled and designed to be understandable in order to teach and encourage those in attendance. Anyone desiring to become a Christian is afforded an opportunity at each assembly. No one will go about the audience singling out people, asking you to stand or urging anyone to do something against their will. The services are not designed to embarrass anyone but rather to teach the Bible to all who come to sing and pray together.
Contributions are made on Sunday by the local members to support the work of the church. Visitors may contribute financially but are under no obligation to do so. The Lord’s Supper is served to Christians every Sunday as instituted by Jesus (Matthew 26:26-28). It is a memorial supper in memory of His death (1 Corinthians 11:24-25). Unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine symbolize his sacrifice on the cross (1 Corinthians 10:16).
The church of Christ exists to please God and to serve fellow Christians.
